Sitting down talking to him is a treat because you get him going over a drink and the stories of being on the road playing with famous jazz bands and/or writing and scoring for the likes of Bob Hope, Ray Charles, Nancy Wilson, Buddy Greco, Rosemary Clooney, Anthony Newley, Rita Morena, and Joe Williams as well as dozens of others start spilling out. I wouldn't want to have been in some of those unsavory spots but they are sure fun to hear about. He holds a Ph.D. in composition from the University of Sydney, Australia and although born and bred in the US his dirty jokes told with an Aussie accent are legendary in several corners of the world.

As a jazz singer or pop singer you need great material that suits you, meanwhile Carl loves composing jazz songs and pop songs for his own pleasure. In addition to his other workload he's been closeted in his studio for the last few years and doing a lot of writing. What's this mean for you?
